Jardins suspendus (hanging gardens) are a series of folded artworks by Julianna Joos. These prints talk about the urban landscape and the rivalry between nature and civilization. Julianna Joos thinks that we all dream of having a garden even though we constantly encourage the building of new housing and office spaces and demand the building of more roads. These artworks are multidisciplinary prints. The image is printed on paper before it is transformed using different processes like folding, cutting and remounting. Through these processes the monoprints created on paper become three dimensional landscapes.
